The role creates and compiles economical short, medium and long-term production, stonework and infrastructure deployment plans and schedules for the colliery. It includes accompanying reports to support integrated business views for strategic, budget planning and future execution. Monitoring ensures execution aligns with the plan.
Key activities involve annual strategic and budget optimal planning using geological information, mining restrictions and mine planning principles within dedicated software. Monthly 24-month rolling forecasts and work block schedules predict tons and qualities based on ground conditions. Annual asset management and water model maintenance ensure safety and compliance.

Requirements
- Grade 12
- Mining related Diploma or B Tech
- Mine Overseer Certificate (preferred)
- 6+ years relevant experience
- Proficiency in dedicated mine planning software
- Application of geological information and mining restrictions
- Knowledge of mine planning principles and performance targets
- Data collection and analysis for planning and forecasting
Responsibilities
- Perform annual strategic and budget optimal production, stonework and infrastructure planning and scheduling within dedicated mine planning software
- Perform and maintain monthly 24 months rolling production and stonework forecasting plan
- Plan production related activities within work block schedules, predicting future tons and qualities
- Perform annual asset management for mineable reserve life of the colliery
- Annually update and monthly manage the water model for safe underground dirty water storage
- Comply with all license to operate requirements including Mining Rights, Environmental and Water
- Support colliery to achieve set targets through production, stonework and infrastructure planning
- Monthly and annually compile mine planning presentations, reports and attend relevant meetings
