About this role

You'll join our Earth and Infrastructure team to assist in mining projects like tailings dams and waste rock. As a consulting engineer, you'll support tailings storage facilities, dam safety inspections, field investigation, lab testing, design, and construction.

You will assist in basic and detailed engineering projects in geotechnics and tailings, write technical documents, and apply current standards. You'll also attend client meetings, conduct field surveys, and supervise project implementation when necessary.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians on cross-functional projects. You'll develop innovative technical solutions to improve tailings management sustainability and efficiency, and play an active role in continuously improving methodologies and work standards.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in projects related to stability analysis, monitoring, tailings management, and hydraulic design
  • Knowledge of applicable local and international standards
  • Strong technical writing skills for high-level reports
  • Proficiency in numerical modelling tools and software such as Python or similar
  • Experience with geotechnical and hydraulic numerical modelling software
  • Availability to conduct site visits when required
  • Advanced English, both spoken and written

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of basic and detailed engineering projects in geotechnics and tailings
  • Write technical documents, calculation notes, specifications, and study reports
  • Apply current standards and work methodologies while continuously seeking improvement
  • Attend internal and client coordination meetings
  • Conduct field surveys and onsite studies
  • Supervise project implementation in the field when necessary
  • Support the commissioning of tailings management systems and hydraulic structures
  • Present technical developments and innovative solutions at industry conferences and technical forums
