Our next Western Australia project is an underground gold mining operation with an initial 8-year mine life.

The Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer maximises productivity of charging operations. Check, maintain and operate charging equipment and explosive magazines per standards, work practices and manuals. Deliver high standards and productivity in all activities.

Work collaboratively with Shift Supervisor, other Charge Up Operators / Shotfirers and Maintenance to optimise productivity, compliance and quality. Uphold high safety standards and commitment to Zero Harm culture. Communicate shift performance and report mechanical issues effectively.

Requirements

Previous experience in development charging with ANFO (essential) and production (desirable)
Current or ability to renew WA Shotfirer License (desirable)
Magazine management experience, including completing stocktakes and maintaining stock levels and magazine books
Experience ensuring charging activities are carried out according to mining plan, blast designs, and statutory explosives requirements
Sound experience storing and transporting explosives in accordance with state and federal regulations
Proven experience working collaboratively to optimise productivity, compliance to work schedules, and quality work
Current Australian C-Class Driver’s License
Valid WA Security Clearance

Responsibilities

Maximise the productivity of the charging operations
Check, maintain and operate charging equipment and explosive magazines in accordance with standards
Manage magazine including completing stocktakes and maintaining stock levels and magazine books
Carry out charging activities according to the appropriate mining plan, blast designs, and statutory explosives management requirements
Ensure equipment is in a safe and clean working order and report any defects
Store and transport explosives in accordance with state and federal regulations
Communicate shift performance to the Shift Supervisor and other Charge Up Operators / Shotfirers
Train other team members in all aspects of the Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer role
