About this role
Ravensworth Operations comprises Ravensworth Open Cut and the Coal Handling Preparation Plant that provides high quality coal for the export market. The operation has approval to mine over 14Mtpa, with a long life of mine. It is ideally located in NSW Hunter Valley near Singleton.
An opportunity exists for a Blast Supervisor to join the mining team at Ravensworth Operations. You will provide strong leadership to drive a high-performance, safe and productive work culture. Role model and reinforce behaviours that underpin operational success.
Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent, supervise the blast team to meet planned outcomes. Monitor tasks by team and contractors for safety compliance with policies and procedures. Lead by example with visible direction for safe, achievement-oriented work.

Requirements
- NSW Open Cut Examiners Practicing Certificate (required)
- Previous Supervisory experience
- Possess or be eligible for a Security Clearance
- Previous Drill and Blast experience (desirable)
- Blasting Explosives User’s License (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Supervise and instruct personnel within the blast team to meet planned outcomes and hold members accountable to expected standards of behaviour and performance
- Monitor tasks carried out by immediate team and contracting support to ensure safe execution and compliance with applicable policies, plans and procedures
- Lead by example by providing visible and credible direction to achieve a safe and achievement-oriented approach to work
- Identify and communicate risks associated with health, safety, and environmental impacts
- Oversee people management issues including input to training and development of team members
- Contribute to planning and allocation of resources within area of responsibility as required
