About this role

The Mosaic Company is the world’s leading integrated producer of concentrated phosphate and potash. This Mining Engineer or Geoscience Co-Op/Intern role provides hands-on experience in underground mining and geological processes at Mosaic Potash Esterhazy K3, an underground potash mine 90 kilometers south of Yorkton.

Day-to-day duties include shadowing experienced professionals, traveling underground to perform inspections and collect data, and assisting with mine ventilation or planning. Support geophysical surveys by preparing equipment and learning techniques, while participating in safety initiatives and interpreting geological data.

Work full-time, typically 36-40 hours a week on site, from May 11, 2026 up to 16 months. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates at this competitive underground potash mine located at Highway 22, Esterhazy, SK.

Learn from Professional Engineers and contribute to projects improving mining processes under senior guidance. Communicate with various levels of personnel and exchange ideas across departments with a global leader serving farmers worldwide.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Mining Engineering or Geoscience university program
  • Interest in underground potash mining operations
  • Basic knowledge of mine ventilation and planning processes
  • Familiarity with geological data collection and interpretation
  • Comfortable working underground and performing inspections
  • Understanding of safety protocols in mining environments
  • Ability to support geophysical surveys and equipment preparation

Responsibilities

  • Shadow experienced professionals to develop job knowledge and provide input on current practices
  • Travel underground to perform inspections and collect data
  • Assist the department with Mine Ventilation or Mine Planning duties as required
  • Assist in evaluating and formulating solutions for projects aimed at improving mining processes under the guidance of senior team members
  • Support geophysical surveys by preparing equipment, collecting data, and learning traditional and innovative techniques
  • Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company policies
  • Help collect, organize, and interpret geological and operational data, contributing to the exchange of ideas and recommendations across departments
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization
