About this role

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Open Cut Examiner / Mining Supervisor at our Wilpinjong Mine. This open cut mine is located producing high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets. We have a predominately CAT fleet, with haul roads kept LV free with demarcated roads.

Reporting to 2 highly experienced Production Superintendents back to back, this role is responsible for all day to day mine activities in compliance with all relevant statutes. Provide leadership to achieve safe and effective production through managing production functions in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

This position suits a fast-paced low strip ratio 4:1 open cut mining environment with exposure to truck/shovel digger, dozer push and cast blast. Low strip ratio and multiple seam opportunities for those who enjoy safe production challenges in an ever-moving landscape. Family-friendly rotating panel roster with mix of days and nights suited to residential lifestyle in nearby Mudgee district.

Requirements

Experienced in open cut mining operations
Motivated with interest in progressing mining career
Knowledge of statutory requirements for Open Cut Examiner
Leadership experience in coal mine production
Familiarity with CAT fleet in open cut environment
Ability to manage low strip ratio 4:1 mining
Understanding of multiple seam open cut challenges

Responsibilities

Fulfil the statutory requirements for an Open Cut Examiner
Provide leadership to achieve safe and effective production
Manage all day to day mine activities in compliance with relevant statutes
Oversee production functions in a safe, efficient, and effective manner
Supervise truck/shovel digger operations
Manage dozer push and cast blast activities
Conduct pre-shift examinations and safety checks on open cut operations
Ensure compliance on LV-free haul roads with demarcated roads
