About this role

Under direction of the Fire Lieutenant or above, the Industrial Emergency Response Tech II performs administrative and technical tasks supporting fire suppression, fire prevention, hazardous materials, emergency medical, and other emergency services. Firefighters inspect, test, maintain, and repair life safety equipment including fire extinguishers, hoses, monitors, and SCBA respirators. They ensure accurate documentation of all testing and repairs.

Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents, providing fire suppression, search and rescue for trapped persons, and emergency medical services as needed. Participate in fire prevention operations, training, investigations, equipment maintenance, and responses to natural disasters or hazardous materials incidents. Prepare reports on emergency incidents as assigned.

Identify, isolate, and contain hazardous materials in a safe manner during various incidents. Clean and maintain fire station, equipment, and apparatus to ensure constant readiness. Perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of emergency response equipment and installed life safety systems per Vallen and customer SOPs.

Maintain emergency vehicle equipment logs, track EMS supplies and inventory, and report levels to the Fire Lieutenant. Work in extreme hot or cold environments, dusty conditions, and hazardous settings while following safety precautions. Complete continuing education to keep certifications current, with possible travel and offshore requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Firefighter I, IFSAC/ProBoard or NFPA 1081 equivalent
  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
  • CPR & AED
  • Hazardous Materials Technician
  • Rope Rescue Training
  • Confined Space Training
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
