We’re looking for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to play a critical role in keeping operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. Establish and maintain preventive maintenance frequencies with detailed job plans including safety steps, craft requirements, and task sequencing for electrical and mechanical equipment. Plan work by defining trades, repair times, access needs, and ensure all materials, parts, tools, permits, and documentation are ready before scheduling.

Coordinate with Trades, Supervisors, internal customers, Operations, and stakeholders to create weekly schedules optimizing labor, minimizing downtime, and ensuring PM compliance. Manage vendor services like generator inspections and align maintenance windows with operational requirements for safe execution.

Apply best practices to improve safety, reliability, and uptime while ensuring compliance with electrical, fire, building codes, and insurance standards. Support annual overhaul programs, capital projects, and retain contractors as needed. Utilize CMMS reporting to monitor performance metrics like backlog and planned vs. unplanned work.

Requirements

  • Certificate of Qualification: Ontario #442A Industrial Electrician and/or #309A Construction/Maintenance Electrician
  • Technology Diploma (Electrical Engineering Technology)
  • B.A.Sc. Engineering (electrical or mechanical)
  • 3+ years maintenance experience in CTC DCs
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge of DC production equipment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance planning techniques and scheduling principles
  • Strong proficiency in Maximo and CMMS systems
  • Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain PM frequencies and detailed job plans for electrical and mechanical equipment based on OEM recommendations
  • Plan maintenance work by defining required trades, repair times, access requirements, and total job duration
  • Maintain and update Maximo asset hierarchy ensuring accurate status for assets
  • Create weekly maintenance schedules that optimize labor utilization, minimize downtime, and ensure PM compliance
  • Coordinate PM and CM work with Trades, Operations, Maintenance Supervisors, and stakeholders
  • Schedule and manage vendor-maintenance services such as generator inspections and substation electrical maintenance
  • Ensure all planned work complies with legislative, regulatory, and code requirements
  • Utilize CMMS reporting to monitor planning performance including PM compliance and backlog
