We are recruiting experienced Shotfirers to work a 7/7 day shift only roster, reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor. Responsibilities include supervising blast crews in setting up, loading, tying-in, and firing blasts. You will manage explosives magazines and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Conduct risk assessments, secure blast areas, follow drill and blast designs, and inspect post-blast areas for misfires, fumes, and rockfalls. Maintain accurate blast documentation and collaborate with site supervisors and engineers. Mentor and train new team members in a safe work environment connected to BHP values.

Requirements

Genuine commitment to safety
Current blast crew experience with significant open-cut mining experience (minimum 3 years)
QLD explosive security clearance and Shotfirers Licence mandatory
Preferably with the monitor and control the effects of blasting on the environment competency
Experience with digishot, nonel and det cord initiation highly regarded
HR/MR, High risk/forklift, loader, stem truck, MPU and skid steer highly regarded
Leadership courses, S1, 2,3 & G2 highly regarded
Passion for continuous improvement to drive individual and team performance

Responsibilities
