We are recruiting experienced Shotfirers to work a 7/7 day shift only roster, reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor. Responsibilities include supervising blast crews in setting up, loading, tying-in, and firing blasts. You will manage explosives magazines and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Conduct risk assessments, secure blast areas, follow drill and blast designs, and inspect post-blast areas for misfires, fumes, and rockfalls. Maintain accurate blast documentation and collaborate with site supervisors and engineers. Mentor and train new team members in a safe work environment connected to BHP values.

Requirements
- Genuine commitment to safety
- Current blast crew experience with significant open-cut mining experience (minimum 3 years)
- QLD explosive security clearance and Shotfirers Licence mandatory
- Preferably with the monitor and control the effects of blasting on the environment competency
- Experience with digishot, nonel and det cord initiation highly regarded
- HR/MR, High risk/forklift, loader, stem truck, MPU and skid steer highly regarded
- Leadership courses, S1, 2,3 & G2 highly regarded
- Passion for continuous improvement to drive individual and team performance
Responsibilities
