The Mine Maintenance Planner reports to the General Supervisor, Mine Planning & Scheduling, and is a key team member developing, supporting, managing and controlling planned work for the Maintenance Department. Manage planning area backlogs for accuracy and details to advance work through the planning process. Develop detailed job scopes including materials, labor, permits, engineered drawings, facilities, support equipment, special tooling and instructions. Collaborate with tradespeople to review opportunities for improvements to future planned work.

Work closely with the Reliability team to implement maintenance strategies and provide feedback for improvements. Support strategies within the Computerized Maintenance Management System as outlined by Reliability. Collaborate with Execution and Supply Chain teams to create work packages, verify materials and optimize stocking levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma along with journeyperson’s ticket or post-secondary degree/diploma in related engineering or technical discipline preferred
  • Previous supervisory, materials acquisition, planning or scheduling experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems such as Maximo or Daxti
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to productively direct a team
  • High level of energy, detail oriented and willing to embrace change
  • Familiarity with maintenance and work management processes
  • Organizational, planning and resourcing skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven team player

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Manage planning area backlogs for accuracy and details to advance work through planning process
  • Collaborate with tradespeople to review opportunities for improvements to future planned work
  • Develop detailed job scopes including required materials, labor, permits, engineered drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment, tooling and instructions
  • Work closely with Reliability team to ensure maintenance strategies are implemented and provide feedback for improvement opportunities
  • Support implementation of maintenance strategies within Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Review completed work for feedback and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Execution team to create detailed work packages catalogued as job plans or templates in CMMS
