About this role

The Plant Mechanic Specialist maintains industrial equipment and systems while ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, health, regulatory standards, quality management system and NFPA requirements.

Daily responsibilities center on preventive and predictive maintenance through sensory inspections, hands-on tolerance checks, fluid analysis, lubrication, and tension adjustments on belts, chains and components.

Specialized work includes vibration analysis, balancing, alignment procedures, NDT, and commissioning of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum systems according to engineering specifications.

Close collaboration with operations minimizes downtime and equipment failures while maintaining accurate breakdown history and PM records to support long-term reliability.

Requirements

Graduate of Industrial technological course, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering and certified plant mechanic PRC licensed.
Four to five years of work-related experience in an Industrial/Chemical Refinery set-up with working knowledge on hydrometallurgy and semi-conductors.
Knowledge of Industrial chiller, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC system, welding MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Cored and fabrication techniques.
Ability to perform under pressure and handle emergency repairs.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with passion for daily improvement.
Openness to different and new ways of doing things; modifies preferred approach when appropriate.

Responsibilities

Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and health regulatory standards, quality management system and NFPA requirements.
Performs preventive and predictive maintenance including sensory inspections, hands-on checks, fluid analysis, lubrication and tension adjustments.
Conducts specialized testing and analysis such as vibration analysis, balancing, alignment, NDT and fluid analysis.
Commissions mechanical systems and components according to engineering and manufacturers’ specifications.
Commissions hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum systems.
Collaborates with operations team to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Maintains breakdown history records per machine and PM records.
