About this role
At Alcoa, become an essential part of turning raw potential into real progress as a Mobile Mine Operator Trainee. Gain hands-on experience operating a Haul Truck in one of the world’s most innovative and community-focused mining operations, while being home every night. No prior mining experience is required—we’re looking for people with the right attitude, motivation, and willingness to learn.
This 12-month traineeship combines on-the-job learning with off-the-job, competency-based training through TAFE, leading to a nationally recognised Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations. Build strong knowledge of environmental and safety principles. Participate in toolbox discussions and team initiatives.
Operate a haul truck and use problem-solving skills to contribute to productivity improvements. Work rotating shift rosters across a 24/7 operation, including nights and weekends. Supported by experienced trainers and a structured learning environment with new challenges daily.

- C Class Manual Licence (unrestricted)
