About this role

We are looking for a Shotfirer to join our Drill and Blast teams across various Pilbara mine sites. This role is an excellent opportunity for team-oriented and motivated individuals who thrive in a supportive and safety-driven environment.

As a Shotfirer reporting to the Supervisor of the blast team, you will conduct housekeeping and compliance within magazines, explosive vehicles, and work areas. You will participate in all activities involving explosive products, including maintaining standards and using electronic detonators and firing units.

You will actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities. Work with the Blast Supervisor and Coordinator to manage blasting activities and lead a blast crew to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Commitment to safety—prioritizing the wellbeing of yourself and your team.
  • Valid Australian C Class manual driver’s license or higher.
  • Strong team mindset, with the ability to work safely and flexibly to meet business requirements.
  • Valid Shotfirer’s Ticket (mandatory).
  • Dangerous Good License.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a blast crew, ensuring safe and efficient blasting operations.
  • Experience working with electronic detonators.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct housekeeping and compliance within magazines, magazine compounds, explosive vehicles, and work areas.
  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance.
  • Participate in all activities involving the use of explosive products, including maintaining the standards of explosive compounds.
  • Work with the Blast Supervisor and Coordinator to manage blasting activities.
  • Use electronic detonators as well as firing units.
  • Lead and coordinate a blast crew to ensure safe and efficient blasting operations.
  • Help drive productivity and achieve operational targets in the Drill and Blast teams.
