About this role

Hampton Mining and Civil seeks an enthusiastic experienced Project Manager for a challenging Goldfields Open Pit opportunity. The role requires production experience from a strong background in Open Pit mining and bulk haulage. Candidates able to deliver projects successfully, safely, on time, and within budget are encouraged to apply.

Provide effective management and administration to achieve production targets in a safe and efficient manner. Forecast medium- to long-term project development and evaluate progress against objectives. Work with Hampton Transport Services and client management to determine plant, equipment, and labour requirements for efficient utilisation.

Monitor overall performance to ensure targets are met and take appropriate action. Administer contracts for extensions of time, costs, variations, claims, invoicing, and monthly reporting. Establish positive working relationships with clients, personnel, sub-contractors, local businesses, and community organisations.

Provide coaching, mentorship, and feedback to subordinates while establishing training initiatives. Requirements

  • 3-5 years Project Management experience in open pit mining and/or bulk haulage operations
  • 5-10 years’ experience operating in mining production environment
  • Thorough understanding of Mining Regulations Act
  • Experience in machinery operations in open-pit production mining
  • Restricted/Quarry Managers certificate of competency
  • People management skills
  • Sound knowledge of safe mining and earthmoving practices

Responsibilities

  • Work with Hampton Transport Services and client management to determine plant, equipment, and labour requirements
  • Establish training initiatives to provide skills required for the project’s needs
  • Monitor overall performance to ensure targets are met and take appropriate action
  • Provide accurate, timely, and effective progress reports to the client and management
  • Administer the contract and sub-contracts for extensions of time, costs, variations, claims, and invoicing
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and feedback for subordinates
