Mine Operator Entry

Teck Alaska Incorporated at Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Temporary Mine Operator Entry. Reporting to the Mine Shift Supervisors, this career-oriented role involves operating heavy equipment like 777 Haul Trucks in the mine department. Follow all safety regulations and procedures outlined by the company on an even rotation schedule.

Establish basic understanding of 777 haul trucks, including proper operation from one point to another, dumping locations, and loading areas under close supervision of a trainer or senior Mine Operator. Complete basic paperwork such as timesheets and walk around inspection forms detailing location, material hauled, load count, hours worked, and equipment condition.

Communicate effectively with other operators, colleagues, and supervisors about assigned tasks, ensuring carryover and updates throughout the shift. Demonstrate knowledge of environmental risks and hazards, complying with safety policies including MSHA and Red Dog EMS training. Conduct daily workplace inspections to identify and correct hazards.

Be a courageous safety leader, adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules. Show willingness to learn, follow instructions, and advance through the Mine Operators progression. Ensure compliance with all established policies and advise coworkers and visitors as required.
