Senior Mining Engineer

The Senior Mining Engineer will support Project Managers by completing open pit and underground mine engineering, design, planning, and operating and capital cost estimation. This role is assigned to a variety of projects including technical studies from desktop studies to NI 43-101 compliant technical reports.

Key responsibilities include providing senior-level mining engineering and design services for mine studies, preparing equipment specifications, and assisting with procurement. The engineer also designs mine infrastructure, ventilation systems, backfill systems, and mining services, and prepares detailed CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates.

The role promotes the JDS Way, which emphasizes professional, ethical, and practical conduct, open communication, and accountability. The engineer will lead and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of no mediocrity and high standards, while ensuring no harm to people, environment, assets, or reputation.

This position offers exposure to a multitude of projects, from desktop studies to detailed design and operational assistance. The Senior Mining Engineer will have the opportunity to present findings to a wide range of audiences and clients and contribute to NI 43-101 technical reports.
