Senior Mining Engineer

MEC Technical Services

Perth, AU · Full-time · A$160,000 – A$210,000

About this role

This is your chance to step up and gain greater exposure across project lifecycles at MEC Technical Services, a specialist mining consultancy. We focus on sustainable career development, building careers that could last a decade by exposing you to a diverse range of mining scenarios and locations.

You will devise bespoke solutions and own the outcomes, working with a broad client base from junior developers to large mining organisations (400ktpa to >4Mtpa). Your first year could include closure design for a bauxite mine, strategic pit designs for an iron ore mine, drill and blast designs for a gold mine restart, and life-of-mine planning for a greenfield copper mine.

You will collaborate frequently with your Manager and Principals (AusIMM CPs with 15-25 years' experience) and have technical backup when needed, including access to a Principal Geotech. The multi-disciplinary team spans mining, geology, resource, geotech, and environment, with mentorship that actually happens, not just when they have time.

We will do our best to grow your capability and align your work with your expertise and interests, whether you prefer rotating through short projects or deep dives of 6-12 months. Most consultants are client-embedded, giving you direct access to client expertise and on-the-ground knowledge.
