About this role
NACG is seeking Haul Truck Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region at Suncor. NACG offers a combined rate of up to $49.67/hour with room for growth.
Operate various makes and models of haul trucks, including CAT and Komatsu, to transport raw material from the mine for processing. Ensure compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures daily. Perform walk-arounds, safety checks, and field level risk assessments before starting work.
Work a 14x14 schedule with 12-hour shifts, days and nights, on site without camp provided. Bussing is available from Fort McMurray to site before and after shifts. Join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955 upon successful hire.
Earn overtime after 8 hours daily or 44 hours weekly, up to 61 hours per rotation. Receive night shift premium of +$1.20/hour and paid weekly. Access benefits and pension after 400 hours, including medical and dental coverage.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience in a mining atmosphere and running a rigid frame truck (793 and 830/930 experience is an asset)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Valid CSO or BSO (Energy Safety Canada)
- Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
Responsibilities
- Operate various makes and models of haul trucks (CAT/Komatsu), transporting raw material from the mine for processing
- Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies, operating standards and procedures
- Use adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE
- Review safe work plans and hazard assessments prior to job commencement
- Complete walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments to ensure heavy equipment is running properly
- Report any necessary repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors
- Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately
