Working across our underground operation at Prominent Hill, you will provide specialist advice and execute analysis and benchmarking of end-to-end performance. This role supports the integrity, safety, and performance of the mine, and you will identify and implement a portfolio of improvement initiatives that enable excellence and support continuous improvement.
You will compile reports and provide expertise to teams in analysis of production performance indicators and metrics, determine equipment capability assumptions, and conduct data analysis and interpretation. Working closely with contractors, you will develop and practically implement new ideas while assessing and managing execution, change, and project risk.
This position operates on an 8/6 FIFO roster and is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will apply BHP Operating System practices to drive improvement and contribute to a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Engineering or other closely related tertiary qualification related to mining.
- Underground mining knowledge and experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and experience meeting individual and team KPIs.
- Strong communication skills for effective engagement with all levels of management.
- Thorough understanding of the mine development and production cycle preferred.
- Experience in managing and implementing improvement initiatives highly regarded.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work with data; experience with Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Webex, Deswik and similar preferred.

Responsibilities
- Compile reports and provide expertise to other teams in analysis of production performance indicators and metrics.
- Analyse and determine equipment capability assumptions.
- Conduct data analysis and interpretation to support reporting requirements and improvement initiatives.
- Prepare inputs to form the budget and provide forecast updates and budget analysis.
- Identify and deliver improvement opportunities using the BHP Operating System (BOS) practices.
- Assess and manage execution, change, and project risk.
- Identify safe operational practices, including field leadership activities.
- Work closely with contractors to ensure new ideas are developed and practically implemented.
