We seek a highly motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Service Center team.

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic diagnoses problems and performs complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on yellow iron and other oil field equipment. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and part replacements according to established guidelines. Accurate records are kept in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Daily tasks involve inspecting tools and equipment, ensuring cleanliness of hand tools, parts, and machinery. Assist lower-level mechanics with assignments while working under pressure in a hands-on environment. Physical demands require standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent stooping or climbing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum five years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Basic knowledge of computer use and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of CMMS software is a plus
  • Valid Driver License; DOT License is a plus
  • Strong communication and time management skills; ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Perform all necessary preventative maintenance on heavy equipment according to established guidelines and time frames
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of failures and repairs in Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Identify and order parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance
  • Perform complex repairs on equipment and replace parts as necessary
  • Assist lower level Mechanics in completing work assignments as necessary
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose all problems with yellow iron equipment
  • Complete troubleshooting repairs and/or modifications work on equipment
  • Perform daily inspections of tools and equipment used and ensure cleanliness of hand tools, equipment and parts
