About this role
Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. The mine has operated since 2005 and grown into one of Australia’s largest surface mines with a long life and low operating costs.
As Shotfirer you report to the Blast & Mine Services Superintendent and hold responsibility for the safety and health of all persons and equipment in and around the mining operation while ensuring compliance with the Safety and Health Management System.
You will work within a hands-on Production team that values safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork. No two days are the same as the team shares knowledge and continuously improves performance across the site.

Requirements
- Hold a QLD Shotfirer Licence
- QLD Mining Supervisor S123 Competency
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Proactive attitude to safety and strong work ethic
- Flexibility and teamwork when working with others across the business
- Strong drive to learn and grow in the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and health of all persons and equipment in and around the mining operation
- Maintain compliance with the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS)
- Demonstrate visible leadership by guiding the Mining team to achieve KPIs
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across production activities
- Supervise an efficient production team on a daily basis
