In this role, you will lead and contribute to concept, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies for surface mining projects. You will provide technical expertise in open pit mine design, planning, and optimisation while identifying key value drivers in cost, productivity, and revenue.

You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions, building strong client relationships and understanding their operational needs. Safety, innovation, and continuous improvement are championed across every project you touch.

As a Senior Mining Engineer, you will mentor and support junior team members to build capability within the team. This is an opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality mining studies and projects across a range of surface operations in the mining and energy infrastructure sectors.

Requirements

Degree-qualified Mining Engineer with strong experience in surface (open pit) mining environments
Solid understanding of mining studies and project delivery
Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems
Confident working across multidisciplinary teams with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience in mine planning software, such as Deswik or similar
Exposure to project studies and capital projects
Commercially aware and self-driven with a strong focus on delivering safe, practical, and value-driven outcomes

Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to concept, prefeasibility and feasibility (FEL 1–3) studies for surface mining projects
Provide technical expertise in open pit mine design, planning and optimisation
Identify and assess key value drivers including cost, productivity and revenue optimisation
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their operational needs and identifying opportunities
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
Champion safety, innovation and continuous improvement across projects
Mentor and support junior team members to build capability within the team
