The Vocational Training Officer role focuses on managing processes to meet production targets while prioritizing safety training initiatives and compliance in coal mining operations.

Design and deliver training sessions covering operational procedures and safety protocols. Conduct theoretical and practical training on mine operations, perform competency evaluations, and coordinate vocational refresher training to refresh knowledge and skills for non-statutory personnel.

Work closely with internal stakeholders including Mines Manager, Safety Officer, Colliery Engineer, OB Incharge, and Blasting Officer. Engage external contractors and vendors to ensure effective participation and alignment with regulatory requirements under MVTR 1966.

Develop an annual training calendar focused on technical skill enhancement in safety, blasting, gas testing, explosives handling, HEMM operation, and first aid. Implement digital solutions to improve team efficiency while fostering a culture of safety and productivity across mine operations.

Requirements

  • B.Tech/B.E-Mining with First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency
  • Experience conducting Training Needs Analysis and competency evaluations
  • Knowledge of MVTR 1966 compliance and vocational refresher training requirements
  • Ability to coordinate with Mines Manager, Safety Officer, and Blasting Officer
  • Proficiency in deploying digital tools for training and operational efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver training sessions covering operational procedures and safety protocols.
  • Identify training needs and prioritize budget allocation accordingly while monitoring expenditure.
  • Assess competency levels through skill evaluations and develop personalized training plans.
  • Deliver theoretical and practical training on mine operations and safety protocols per MVTR 1966.
  • Conduct reorientation training for discontinued non-statutory personnel to refresh knowledge and skills.
  • Review and update training content to reflect industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis to identify skill gaps and provide new joinee trainings.
  • Develop and implement an annual training calendar focusing on safety, blasting, gas testing, and HEMM operation.
