About this role

AFRY is seeking a Mining Engineer Expert to strengthen its team serving clients in the mining and metals industries. The role supports end-to-end expertise from early exploration and feasibility studies to mine design, processing, and recycling. This position contributes to the global green industrial transformation within a division of 8,000 experts.

In this role you will act as a mining expert and project manager during project development and execution phases. Tasks include leading mining engineering work, developing life-of-mine schedules, and performing open-pit and stope optimisation. You may also manage sales and prepare proposals for client investment projects.

You will be fully supported by multi-skilled colleagues in the Industry Division. The international project base includes greenfield and brownfield mines, concentrator plants, ferroalloy smelters, and battery metals production facilities. Requirements

  • M.Sc. degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 7 years hands-on experience in mining feasibility studies, conceptual and basic engineering, and project execution
  • Ability to act as leading expert in mining projects
  • Capability to develop life-of-mine schedules for open-pit and underground projects
  • Experience in open-pit and stope optimisation workflows
  • Understanding of scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies under JORC, NI 43-101 or PERC
  • Qualified Person status with membership in a recognised professional organisation

Responsibilities

  • Act as mining expert and project manager during project development and execution phases

  • Manage sales and develop proposals for mining and metals projects
  • Lead mining engineering tasks and develop working methods and client offerings
  • Develop life-of-mine schedules for open-pit and underground projects
  • Perform open-pit and stope optimisation workflows
  • Deliver practical solutions based on deep knowledge of mining and metals processes
