Take over shift charge from the previous overman and conduct rounds to inspect benches, OB dumps, face management, drain management, dewatering, and haul road maintenance. Review daily blasting schedules and implement precautions for safe blasting operations while monitoring dust levels.

Work with shift incharges, mines manager, and DGMS officials to enforce safety regulations. Monitor machinery and operators, prevent overcrowding of personnel and equipment, and maintain records of operations, safety, equipment, and manpower per DGMS guidelines.

Carry out timely inspections of any observed or reported dangers and respond promptly to accidents or incidents within the assigned district. Supervise rescue operations if required and report incidents to the shift incharge and control room.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mining or any other branch of engineering with Overman certificate
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience
  • Driving license
  • No colour blindness
  • Knowledge of DGMS guidelines for record keeping and safety compliance

  • Conduct rounds in the assigned area to inspect benches, OB dumps, face management, drain management, dewatering, and haul road maintenance.
  • Review daily blasting schedule and implement precautions to ensure safe blasting operations.
  • Monitor dust levels in the mine and implement dust control measures such as sprinkling water.
  • Monitor machinery and operators to ensure safe and secure operations, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain records of operations, safety, equipment, and manpower in accordance with DGMS guidelines.
  • Carry out timely inspections and attend to any observed or reported dangers, ensuring proper fencing of hazardous areas.
  • Respond promptly to accidents or incidents within the assigned district, supervising rescue operations if required.
