The Assistant Manager - Mine Operations directs drilling, blasting, and coal seam removal activities while guiding shift leaders to meet production targets.

Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of mining operations from planning and execution to resource management and quality control. The role ensures adherence to approved plans and safety protocols while managing equipment maintenance and contractor relations.

Collaboration occurs closely with colliery engineers, Mines Manager, Safety Officer, Blasting Officer, and OB Incharge to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives. External coordination with contractors and vendors supports preparatory works and operational needs.

The position drives productivity, cost reduction, and safety enhancement measures while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and DGMS standards. Opportunities exist to integrate innovative mining techniques and deploy digital tools aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

  • B.Tech/B.E-Mining with First Class Mine Manager's Certificate - Coal
  • 2-10 years of relevant experience in mining operations
  • Knowledge of DGMS standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Experience directing drilling, blasting, and coal seam removal activities
  • Ability to guide shift leaders and manage equipment maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Direct overall mining operations encompassing planning, execution, and monitoring of techniques and methods.
  • Ensure efficient resource planning to optimize productivity and meet production targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for effective resource allocation aligning with production goals.
  • Optimize equipment operations and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine mining methodologies and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols while conducting regular inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Promote a culture of safety among team members fostering awareness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage contractor relations and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deploy digital tools.
