About this role

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Mine Operations Projects at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position provides full oversight of day-to-day mine operations projects, including work assignments, time tracking, administration, and contractor management.

The initial primary project for this role will be the construction of the East Haul Road, a vital access and haulage link to our future mining area at New Ingerbelle west of the Similkameen River. You will ensure mine operations projects are conducted safely while maximizing production at minimum cost.

This is a 7X7, 12-hour day shift rotation and is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position. You will benefit from the mentorship and guidance of experienced team members, as we understand that to accomplish our goals we must work as a team and rely on the effort of every member.

Requirements

Proven experience supervising mine operations or construction projects in a mining environment
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the BC Mines Act
Ability to manage contractors and coordinate multiple work crews effectively
Experience with time tracking, project administration, and resource allocation
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide constructive feedback to team members
Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement in operating performance

Responsibilities

Demonstrate a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with CMM's Health, Safety, and Environmental Programs and the BC Mines Act
Provide full oversight of day-to-day mine operations projects, including work assignments and direction to crew members
Manage time tracking, administration, and contractor management for mine operations projects
Support crew and team members through good communication and feedback
Lead the construction of the East Haul Road, a vital access and haulage link to the New Ingerbelle mining area
Ensure mine operations projects are conducted safely while maximizing production at minimum cost
