This Power Plant Mechanic II role is an experienced technician who performs complex power plant maintenance activities involving the identification, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment issues.

Day-to-day work involves diagnosing complex mechanical problems and performing corrective action on mechanical equipment to maximize plant reliability, availability, and performance. You will also perform preventative maintenance, inspections, overhauls, and upgrades on mechanical related equipment to avoid unscheduled downtime.

You will communicate and coordinate with plant operations to maintain efficiency and performance, and provide oversight of appropriate contractors for routine and outage maintenance activities. The role requires using the SAP system to provide, evaluate, and maintain concise maintenance and equipment records for an accurate historical account.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent with related vocational or technical training preferred.
3-5+ years of related experience.
Knowledge of leading practices for their area of expertise.
Planning and project management skills.
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job.
Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner.
Analytical skills and compliance knowledge.
Plant equipment utilization, plant operations, operations quality, operations resource management, and operations risk management skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose complex mechanical problems, recommend, direct, and perform corrective action on mechanical equipment to maximize plant reliability, availability, and performance.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, overhauls, and upgrades on mechanical related equipment to avoid unscheduled downtime.
Use the SAP system to provide, evaluate, and maintain concise maintenance and equipment records to achieve an accurate historical account for future references.
Communicate and coordinate with plant operations to maintain efficiency and performance.
Provide oversight of appropriate contractors for routine and outage maintenance activities.
Communicate to supervisor to provide updates on maintenance activities and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs.
