About this role

Didipio Mine is undergoing a significant underground growth and infrastructure expansion phase. The Principal Mining Engineer develops and maintains long-term mine plans that support strategic and operational objectives. The role integrates technical, operational, infrastructure, and economic inputs to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable mining outcomes.

Daily work centers on leading Life of Mine plan development, production scheduling, and infrastructure requirements. The engineer coordinates quarterly and mid-term planning activities while monitoring plan updates based on operational performance and business priorities.

Strong cross-functional relationships are built across site and corporate teams to support integrated planning. Scenario analysis and trade-off studies are conducted to inform operational and investment decisions while maintaining mine planning standards and engineering procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Extensive mine planning experience within an underground mining environment preferably open stoping (minimum 10 years).
  • Strong knowledge of mine planning, scheduling principles and sustainable mining practices.
  • Expert proficiency in Deswik CAD and Scheduling Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and presentation across the business.
  • Exposure to international mining practices considered highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimisation of Life of Mine plans, production schedules, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Coordinate quarterly and mid-term planning activities across technical and operational teams.
  • Monitor and update mine plans based on operational performance and business priorities.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and trade-off studies to support operational and investment decisions.
  • Develop and maintain mine planning standards, systems, and engineering procedures.
  • Support safe and efficient mining operations through effective planning and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and develop engineering personnel while promoting a strong safety culture.
