About this role
As a Senior Mining Engineer with AMC Consultants, now part of AFRY, you will join a globally connected team delivering innovative, data-driven solutions across the full mining lifecycle. This role combines AMC's specialist mining consultancy expertise with AFRY's global engineering, project delivery, and sustainability capabilities.
In this position, you will deliver technical assignments under the guidance of a Project Manager, managing and mitigating AMC's risk exposure while promoting our services. You will leverage your industry networks to proactively market AMC's services and generate chargeable consulting work.

Requirements
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license in Canada or eligibility to obtain
- Extensive experience in underground mining operations and planning
- Proficiency with underground mine design and planning software (e.g., Deswik, Datamine, or similar)
- Strong understanding of mine safety, risk management, and mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated ability to manage consulting projects within scope, schedule, and budget
- Client relationship management skills and experience in business development
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decisions
Responsibilities
- Contribute as a professional team member in fulfilling AMC’s consulting projects
- Deliver technical engineering assignments to agreed specifications and quality
- Complete technical tasks within established timeframes and budget limits
- Develop and maintain client relationships to support AMC’s brand and project portfolio
- Generate and oversee an individual portfolio of consulting assignments through business development activities
- Review and support colleagues’ work and participate in internal knowledge-sharing
- Manage and mitigate AMC’s risk exposure while promoting AMC’s services
- Proactively market AMC’s services and deliver chargeable consulting work
