About this role

As a Mining Engineer in Short-Term Scheduling at Carrapateena, you will support delivery of 13-week mine plans for a growing SLC/BC operation. The role places you in a position to influence performance, safety and culture across the site.

Daily work includes critical path tracking for block cave development and monthly compliance reporting through a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle. You will also run cave flow models and conduct shutoff analysis for the SLC within the two-year horizon.

Close collaboration with the Mining Technical & Technology team, Operations and contract partners drives a quality mine plan. The position supports internal planning, budget generation and major project study requirements.

Carrapateena is entering production ramp-up and block cave operational readiness. You will contribute to detailed planning of mass excavations, footprint development and associated infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Commitment to developing safety leadership
  • Experience in underground mining including mine scheduling, production, design or mine projects
  • Experience in cave flow or short-term scheduling
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or an aligned discipline
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Sched experience an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Assist delivery of 13-week mine plans through engagement with Mining Technical & Technology, Operations and contract partners
  • Provide critical path tracking for block cave to ensure dates are understood and variances mitigated
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly mine plan compliance reports including P2P reconciliation and spatial compliance
  • Support internal planning, budget generation and major project study requirements
  • Analyse threat mitigation options and conduct trade-off studies to improve schedule execution
  • Run cave flow models for SLC using PGCA and later for BC using PCBC
  • Perform shutoff analysis, scenario work and footprint finder tasks for the SLC in the less than two-year horizon
