About this role
Our Steam Turbine Engineering team develops and designs highly efficient turbomachines and seeks new talents to join. The role integrates the latest engineering sciences with digital technologies across the entire product lifecycle. This critical position requires system level knowledge of turbomachinery safety and detailed mechanical component expertise.
You will own steampath bucket/blade component design in execution of NPI, ITR, and factory/field support activities for new units and aftermarket services. You will also drive technology advancements from a shaftline system, subsystem, component, and material/life vantage points. Collaboration with global cross-functional teams and external stakeholders is essential for mutual technical growth.
You will collaborate with a global cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders including Drafting and Global Supply Chain. The team follows a rigorous NPI Tollgate Process from conceptual design through field validation for all bucket/blade component designs.
This role offers the opportunity to apply fundamentals of mechanical design including material properties, statics, strength of materials, and fluid dynamics. You will also use lifing methods related to fatigue and creep, and finite element analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 6+ years engineering experience in design of turbomachinery rotating components.
- Proficiency in English.
- Experience in Steam Turbine rotating component design, including ST rotating and stationary bucket/blade designs, design process, tools, and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) and application of lifing methods (LCF, HCF, creep).
- Excellent communication skills and intercultural awareness.
- Demonstrated passion for Quality, LEAN, and continuous improvement.
- Legal right to work in the U.S. – no sponsorship available.
Responsibilities

- Apply fundamentals of Mechanical Design including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, and lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep.
- Use Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) to validate component designs.
