Western Power is seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to join the team at the Kewdale Depot. This hands-on permanent role focuses on the repair, overhaul, and maintenance of mobile plant equipment used across the energy network.

Work centres on diagnosing faults, stripping and rebuilding components, and completing major repairs. All tasks must meet manufacturer specifications and Australian Standards to keep machinery operating safely.

The position sits within a high-performing team at the Kewdale facility. Collaboration supports consistent delivery of maintenance programs that underpin reliable power infrastructure operations.

Requirements

Base Trade qualification (AQF3) in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic, or Mechanical Fitter
Demonstrated industry experience as a Heavy vehicle / Mobile Plant Mechanic
Experience in diagnosis and repair of hydraulics and low voltage electrical
Valid WA C class licence
Ability to work as part of a high performing team

Responsibilities

Repair, overhaul, and maintain Western Power’s mobile plant equipment
Diagnose faults and perform major repairs on plant machinery
Strip and rebuild plant components to manufacturer standards
Conduct preventative maintenance and safety checks
Ensure all equipment complies with manufacturer specifications and Australian Standards
