WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining of mechanical equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner. This role involves initiating and completing work-orders and requisitions while documenting all critical information on a routine basis.

The mechanic responds to off-hour emergency repairs, troubleshoots mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, and makes necessary repairs. They operate mobile equipment like industrial forklifts and manlifts, perform preventative maintenance, and identify safety hazards while working at heights or in confined spaces.

The role requires proficiency with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software Tabware and effective communication via radio using three-part communication. The mechanic works rotating shifts when requested and actively supports operations functions such as internal equipment inspections and fire watch, following standard safety and environmental procedures.

The mechanic has the opportunity to lead small projects assigned by the Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor. They must complete corporate and plant training programs within the prescribed timeframe, demonstrating operational knowledge of facility equipment and systems while developing skills in welding, machine shop equipment, and waste-to-energy facility operations.

Requirements

High School diploma (GED) preferred.
Proven mechanical abilities in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment.
Ability to use and become proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software (Tabware).
Proficient in welding practices including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, brazing, and soldering.
Proficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to properly identify and safely use and maintain hand tools and portable power tools.
Knowledge of operating equipment in a waste-to-energy facility or similar industry, including chain & flight conveyors, belt conveyors, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, overhead cranes, and various pumps.
Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, respond to off-hour emergency repairs, and be on call.
Ability to lead small projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, diagnose problems, and make necessary repairs.
Operate mobile equipment including industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance activities and other routine maintenance and repairs around facility grounds.
Initiate and complete work-orders and requisitions and document all critical information using CMMS software (Tabware).
Proficiently perform welding practices including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, brazing, and soldering.
Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and other precarious places while using necessary PPE.
Lead small projects as assigned by the Lead Mechanic, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager.
Communicate effectively via radio using three-part communication.
