About this role
The Plant Mechanic III is responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment, piping systems, valves, and machinery associated with the company's operation facilities. This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and reports to the Assistant Plant Manager.
Day-to-day work involves installing, repairing, replacing, and troubleshooting plant equipment including basic piping systems, valves, traps, and pumps. The mechanic also performs scheduled preventive maintenance, operates hand and power tools competently, and participates in on-scene work under the direction of others.
This role requires maintaining safe and clean working conditions in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. The mechanic must identify and report unsafe conditions, exercise caution with all company equipment, and contribute to team efforts as needed.
Growth in this role includes the opportunity to qualify as a Boiler Operator and obtain a Universal Refrigerant Handling License. Overtime is required as needed, and the position offers a path to develop advanced industrial maintenance skills.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in an industrial or technical environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Must possess a valid driver license in good standing to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as boilers, tanks, and manholes
- Ability to climb vertical ladders up to 50 feet and tolerate heat in an industrial production plant environment
